Fish4ever Mackerel in Spring Water contains naturally rich Scottish mackerel fillets packed in a simple water-based recipe. This ten-tin case provides a versatile store-cupboard supply for customers who regularly enjoy mackerel in salads, sandwiches, pâtés and warm meals.

The fish is Atlantic mackerel, Scomber scombrus, sourced from the North-East Atlantic, specifically UK waters, and supplied exclusively by Scottish-owned and managed boats. Fish4ever states that it has worked with its trusted Scottish fishing partners for more than twenty years.

Each tin contains 68% mackerel with spring water. Although no oil is added to the recipe, mackerel is naturally an oily fish and retains a moist, full-flavoured texture. Packing it in spring water keeps the ingredient list straightforward and allows customers to add their own dressing, sauce or seasoning.

Typical nutritional values per 100g drained provide 222kcal, 18.2g of protein and 16.6g of fat, including 3.2g of saturates. The product contains 3.2g of omega-3 per 100g drained, with no declared carbohydrate or sugar and 0.1g of salt.

Serve the mackerel over rye or sourdough toast with lemon and black pepper, or combine it with warm potatoes, beetroot and a mustard dressing. It can also be mixed with cream cheese or yoghurt for a quick pâté, incorporated into fishcakes or flaked through a grain salad with herbs and roasted vegetables.
