The Mooncup Original Size A is a reusable menstrual cup made from medical-grade silicone, designed to collect menstrual fluid rather than absorb it. Size A is recommended by Mooncup for those aged 30 and over, or for anyone who has given birth vaginally regardless of age. The cup measures 46mm in diameter and 50mm in length, with a 21mm stem that can be gradually trimmed to achieve a comfortable fit. It has a capacity of up to 29.3ml.

The Mooncup is folded for insertion before opening inside the vagina to form a light seal with the vaginal walls. Depending on menstrual flow, it may need to be emptied every 4 to 8 hours, while Mooncup states that with appropriate hygiene and care it can be worn for up to 12 hours.

Care Instructions

Wash your hands before inserting or removing the Mooncup. During your period, rinse the cup with water and wash using a mild, non-perfumed soap when suitable facilities are available. Before first use and between periods, Mooncup recommends thoroughly cleaning the cup by boiling it immersed in water for 5 to 7 minutes or using a suitable sterilising solution according to its instructions.
