Steenbergs Organic Nigella 50g contains whole organic Nigella sativa seeds with a distinctive nutty, slightly smoky and gently peppery flavour. Also known as black seed, black cumin, black caraway, black onion seed or kalonji, nigella is a versatile spice traditionally used across Indian, Middle Eastern and other regional cuisines.

The small jet-black seeds have a firm, crunchy texture and a mild but characterful flavour that becomes more aromatic when lightly toasted. Their combination of nuttiness and gentle pepperiness makes them useful for adding both flavour and visual contrast to breads, rice dishes, vegetables and savoury bakes.
