Steenbergs Sichuan Pepper 24g delivers the signature citrusy aroma and tingling “ma” sensation essential to regional Chinese cooking. These aromatic husks add bright, peppery complexity without the heat of chilli.
Sprinkle Steenbergs Sichuan Pepper 24g into stir-fries, mapo tofu, dry rubs and chilli oils. Light toasting releases grapefruit-like perfume; grinding just before use gives that numbing, mouth-tingling effect.
Use sparingly and strain out gritty black seeds if present for a clean finish. Excellent with ginger, star anise and chilli in spice blends and marinades.
