Clearspring Organic Japanese Genmaicha combines delicate green tea leaves with roasted brown rice to create a mellow and wonderfully aromatic loose leaf tea. The fresh, grassy character of the green tea is balanced by the warm, nutty flavour of the rice, producing a smooth infusion with a distinctive toasted finish.

The tea leaves are grown in the rolling hills around Kyoto and Kyushu, regions known for their established Japanese tea-growing traditions. After harvesting, the leaves are steamed and rolled before being blended in equal proportions with organic roasted brown rice. The result is an authentic Japanese Genmaicha with plenty of character and an inviting roasted aroma.

This 90g loose leaf format gives you control over the strength of every cup. Brew it lightly for a delicate green tea or use a little more for a fuller toasted flavour.

Preparation

Place two heaped teaspoons of tea per person into a teapot. Boil fresh water and allow it to cool for one minute before pouring it over the tea. Infuse for 1 to 2 minutes, strain and enjoy. Adjust the quantity of tea according to your preferred strength.
