Clearspring Organic Japanese Kuwa Matcha Mulberry Leaf Powder 40g

Clearspring Organic Japanese Kuwa Matcha is a finely ground mulberry leaf powder made from 100% organic Japanese mulberry leaves. Grown in Kagoshima, Japan, the leaves are steamed, dried and milled into a vibrant green powder with a mellow, balanced flavour that is less astringent than traditional green tea matcha.

Kuwa means mulberry in Japanese, and this powder is prepared in a similar way to matcha but uses mulberry leaves rather than green tea leaves. As a result, it is naturally caffeine free, making it a useful alternative for anyone who enjoys the ritual and versatility of matcha but wants to avoid or reduce caffeine.

For a simple hot drink, add around 1g, approximately 1/4 teaspoon, to 70ml of warm water and whisk well. It can also be used to make a caffeine-free latte by whisking the powder with a little hot water before topping with warm milk or a plant-based alternative.
